DESIGN BASED DISTRIBUTION

Architectural lighting distributors with a passion to help others see a different type of lighted environment

 What We Do:

Design Based Distribution:

Lights can be purchased anywhere. We want to be your partner to understand the design and how the lighting will be experienced so that we can create an ambience to improve your day to day life. We call this Design Based Distribution. Our services include input from our procurement team, as well as our lighting designers in our New York City studio. We are your solution.

For the Contractor:

We manage the majority of lighting coordination for you. From assisting in the selection of both architectural and decorative fixtures, to purchasing lighting fixtures and controls, to on-site visits with all trades for coordination of lighting, to technical assistance with control systems and dimming, we manage the client’s expectations and budget while enhancing the design of the project. We are responsive and available for all of your needs through all phases of the project.

For the Architect:

Lighting is complex and full of opportunities. In a residence, it is no longer enough to place four lights in the corners and a chandelier in the middle. In a restaurant, it is not enough to accept dimming down to 5%. In an office, it is not enough to blast lighting everywhere and ignore energy codes. Distributors and sales agencies may show you a light to sell you what they have, but will they consider the conditions and applications of lighting? We collaborate with you to create environments that allow the client to see the effect of lighting in a way that enhances their daily lives. We call this the "What do you want to see" effect. Taking lighting to the next level and incorporating technology to simplify the process.

We support you and your designs. We will guide you through the plan, consider your details, help with the selection process, assure that the color temperature and rendering are to your satisfaction, and a host of other attributes to make you and your architecture look like heroes.

Our Process:

1) Receive a set of drawings from you.
2) Perform a review of the lighting information you have created.
3) Schedule a thirty minute to one hour conversation with you and other stakeholders.
4) Issue a proposal to assist you, based on the drawings and conversation. This fee is to cover our assistance, if you elect to purchase the lighting equipment elsewhere. If we procure the lighting, the fee is credited towards the lighting equipment
5) Provide red-line layout and detail sketches, specifications, dimming recommendations, and ideas for art illumination, depending on your needs.
